The Remington Model 700 M40-Style Short Action combines a newer-production Remington receiver with the distinctive features associated with an M40-inspired build, including a stripper-clip cut and U.S. receiver marking.
The receiver is precision-machined using PTG tooling to establish receiver alignment, true the locking-lug surfaces, and bring the action face and internal geometry into alignment with the receiver centerline. Barrel threads are chased with a guided mandrel, and the bolt face is trued as part of the action-fitting process.
A standard bolt-face configuration and .187" Remington recoil lug complete the action package, creating a clean foundation for a military-inspired custom build.
