The Stiller TAC 1.45 is a large-format precision bolt-action receiver built around a substantial 1.450-inch-diameter 416R stainless steel body and a .747-inch-diameter one-piece bolt.
The 10.25-inch receiver provides a rigid foundation for custom precision builds, while the one-piece bolt is fluted across the top and sides and finished with Stiller’s proprietary dual-layer coating for smooth operation. A swept bolt handle, 90-degree bolt throw, modified M16-style extractor, and Remington 700-style plunger ejector complete the operating system.
The action uses a 416R stainless recoil lug, available in parallel-sided, tapered, or .300-inch configurations. Stiller machines the lug in-house and surface grinds it for extremely tight dimensional consistency.
Barrel tenon threads are cut 1.125-16 TPI UN-3B using a single-point boring process and indexed to the top centerline of the action for consistent barrel orientation and repeatable fitment across compatible Stiller configurations.
