Shipping Policy – The Basics

This Shipping Policy is a legally binding document that establishes the legal relationship between Cal Shooting Suppliesand our customers. It defines our shipping obligations, timelines, restrictions, and procedures, and addresses different scenarios that may occur during order fulfillment.

Having a clear Shipping Policy helps ensure transparency for both our business and our customers. Customers benefit from knowing what to expect regarding processing times and delivery, while we benefit from setting clear expectations and minimizing misunderstandings.

Order Processing Time

All standard orders are processed within 1–3 business days after payment is successfully received, excluding weekends and holidays.

Orders placed after business hours, on weekends, or on holidays will begin processing on the next business day.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MARCH SCOPES

PLEASE NOTE: ALL MARCH SCOPES ARE CUSTOM ORDER ITEMS AND REQUIRE AN 11-WEEK LEAD TIME FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.

This lead time includes:

  • Approximately 10 weeks of manufacturing

  • Approximately 1 week for international shipping and customs processing

Because March Scopes are built to order, orders cannot be canceled or refunded once manufacturing has begun.

Shipping Methods & Carriers

We ship orders using reputable carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and USPS, depending on the product type, destination, and service selected at checkout.

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed during checkout.

Firearms, Gun Parts, and Accessories Shipping

  • Firearms are shipped only to a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder, in full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring their selected FFL dealer is valid and current.

  • Gun parts and accessories are shipped in accordance with applicable laws and may be restricted in certain states or local jurisdictions.

  • We reserve the right to cancel or delay any order that cannot be legally fulfilled.

Domestic Shipping (United States)

We currently ship within the United States only. Certain items may be restricted based on state or local regulations. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable laws prior to purchase.

Shipping Delays & Service Interruptions

Shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to:

  • Carrier delays

  • Weather conditions

  • Customs processing (for imported optics)

  • Compliance verification or regulatory requirements

Cal Shooting Supplies is not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our control.

Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Shipping

Certain products sold by Cal Shooting Supplies may be classified as hazardous materials (“Hazmat”) under U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. These items are subject to special handling, packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements.

Products That May Require Hazmat Shipping

Hazmat items may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ammunition

  • Primers

  • Smokeless powder

  • Black powder

  • Certain chemicals or regulated components

Hazmat classification is determined by the carrier and applicable federal regulations, not by customer preference.

Hazmat Shipping Fees

  • Hazmat items are subject to additional Hazmat fees, which are charged by the carrier for $26.65

  • Hazmat fees are non-refundable, even if an order is canceled, returned, or refused

  • Hazmat fees are separate from standard shipping costs

Applicable Hazmat fees will be disclosed at checkout when possible or added to the order prior to shipment.

Hazmat Shipping Restrictions

Due to carrier and regulatory requirements:

  • Hazmat items cannot be shipped to PO Boxes

  • Hazmat items may not be eligible for free shipping promotions

  • Hazmat items may be restricted or prohibited in certain states or local jurisdictions

  • Hazmat items may require ground shipping only and longer transit times

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that Hazmat items are legal to purchase, possess, and receive at their shipping destination.

 

Processing & Delivery Time for Hazmat Orders

Orders containing Hazmat materials may require additional processing time due to:

  • Specialized packaging and labeling

  • Carrier scheduling requirements

  • Regulatory compliance checks

Delivery timelines for Hazmat shipments are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Refused or Undeliverable Hazmat Shipments

If a Hazmat shipment is refused, returned, or undeliverable due to customer error, address issues, or legal restrictions:

  • The customer is responsible for all shipping and return costs

  • Hazmat fees will not be refunded

  • Additional fees may apply

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse Hazmat orders that cannot be legally or safely fulfilled.

Compliance Statement

Cal Shooting Supplies ships Hazmat materials in accordance with all applicable DOT, federal, state, and carrier regulations. We reserve the right to modify shipping methods, carriers, or fees as required to remain compliant.

Order Tracking

Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking number. Tracking information may take up to 24 hours to update after shipment.

​

Incorrect Address & Failed Delivery

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information at checkout. We are not responsible for orders delayed, lost, or returned due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.

Additional shipping charges may apply for reshipment.

Damaged or Lost Shipments

If your order arrives damaged or appears to be lost in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with:

  • Your order number

  • Photos of the damaged packaging or product (if applicable)
